After Mars and the Moon, the Matiff returns to Earth for a new experience: a journey in search of its origins. It all started in Matera, our city. Mater-A, the mother and the first letter of the alphabet: two beginnings, equal and parallel. It is no coincidence that Matera is one of the oldest cities in the world. Here life has become man’s paradigm and from here man has begun to relate to the universe. In an arid and inhospitable land he found water and with it his chance to survive.

Matera therefore becomes the place from which to start a new reflection on the future of humanity, while science goes beyond the known borders – aware of being a drop in the universe – art must rediscover the meaning of living here, where everything was born and where everything must continue, in that drop of the universe that must continue to ooze. The mother, which generates life, like the earth: mother earth. Without mother there is no language and without language there would be no art.

The Earth is a mother because it welcomes, nourishes, gives the ground on which to grow. We can all be mothers like the earth, welcoming and taking care of what/who we have around us, working to make our planet evolve through art or technology, culture and science, preserving it. Because the Earth is our mother but at the same time our daughter: it is the mysterious and fascinating circle of natural existence.
